“Be fearlessly authentic.”
—Shannon Alder
This guiding principle encapsulates my approach to helping clients navigate their lives, reach their goals, and find inner peace by focusing on their unique strengths and learning to be present in the moment.
As a licensed independent social worker with a Master's degree from The Ohio State University, my career spans a rich tapestry of experiences, from ensuring the well-being of senior citizens to nurturing the growth of children and adolescents facing mental health and substance use challenges. I am deeply committed to empowering individuals across all stages of life to thrive and discover their authentic selves.

Substance use disorders

My Approach
To foster resilience and positive change in my clients, I employ a blend of
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Motivational interviewing,
Mindfulness practices,
Strength-based approaches
It's my belief that when we focus on individual strengths, everyone can discover the capacity to cultivate resilience, gain confidence, and experience meaningful transformation in their lives.
Creating a safe space for authentic self-expression is fundamental to my practice. I advocate for the power of mindfulness in developing awareness and acceptance, essential tools for managing stress, navigating emotional challenges, and pursuing personal growth. My additional education in mindfulness techniques enriches my ability to integrate these practices into therapy, tailoring coping strategies to fit each client's unique personality and interests.
Fun Facts
When not engaged in my professional work, I find joy and balance in the company of my family and my dogs, Apollo and Ares. My personal interests, including photography, baking, cooking, watching anime and Marvel movies, and indulging in self-care through makeup, all of which reflects my holistic approach to well-being.
I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you on your path to well-being and authenticity. As Carl Rogers eloquently put it, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
Together, let's embrace your authentic self, leveraging your innate strengths to navigate life's journey toward the goals you seek.
