Empowering Authenticity Through Therapy
As a recent graduate from Cleveland State University, previous graduate of The Ohio State University, and newly anointed Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I’m excited at the prospect of working with you! I employ an eclectic approach to counseling highlighted by narrative, gestalt, trauma-informed, and somatic therapy. I enjoy using these modalities as I find they can help clients combine their unique story and values with complimentary tools to reflect on and restructure their experiences to live a life that works for them. Regardless of what brings you to my office, you can expect to find a clinician who will meet you where you are at with a curious, humorous, and authentic approach. As a person consistently existing somewhere in what I view to be “uncharted territory”, I have enjoyed exploring aspects of client’s intersecting identity and the value that they hold in feeling heard and respected in our time together.
Areas of Expertise
I specialize in:
Autism and ADHD: Supporting clients to explore how their identity shows up in world normed on neurotypical standards, teaching skills to manage social, occupation, or educational concerns that may arise, and helping them navigate life’s complexities with greater understanding and self-compassion.
Queer Identity: Providing a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals to explore their identities and work through the challenges they may face.
Trauma Work: Letting people express the impact of their trauma in an effort to uncover adaptive narratives that fuel personal healing and corrective experiences.
Depression: Helping clients move through feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and fatigue by fostering self-compassion and implementing strategies that bring balance and motivation back into their lives.
Stress and Anxiety: Working with clients to understand the root causes of their stress and anxiety, and equipping them with coping mechanisms, mindfulness techniques, and practical strategies to withstand these experiences and work towards comfort and confidence.
Life Transitions: Supporting clients as they navigate major life changes—whether personal, professional, or relational—by exploring the feelings and thoughts that come up with change and embrace new opportunities for growth.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is grounded in narrative therapy, somatic techniques, and gestalt therapy. I believe in the power of storytelling and uncovering themes in a client’s life can lead to profound personal insight. I also integrate somatic practices guided by polyvagal theory to help clients connect with their physical selves and promote emotional healing. Additionally, I incorporate gestalt techniques to foster here-and-now awareness, encouraging clients to listen to their bodies and uncover the messages being communicated.
Philosophy
I believe that no one knows you better than yourself, and it’s my honor to work with you in discovering and connecting with the parts of yourself that you are ready to explore. I prioritize authenticity and curiosity in each session, creating a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
Personal Interests
Outside of therapy, I enjoy rock climbing, playing video games, and spending time with my cat and partner. I’m also an avid fan of movies and TV shows, which fuel my creative and eccentric personality.
Let’s Start Your Journey
I’m very excited at the possibility of working together! If you’re looking to better understand yourself, work through trauma, or navigate life’s transitions, I’m here to help. Together, we can build a therapeutic relationship that honors your authentic self and fosters growth, healing, and exploration.
